My Latest Studies
Im currently studying towards my City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Creative Textiles Techniques. These are some pieces that im working on for this qualification.
Iv used silk tops, noir and waste to make the paper. Fixing it together with diluted decorators varnish and PVA Glue.
I gathered the silk paper to look like bark and left it to dry. Then I molded the paper to a mannequins body. For added effect, iv made braiding out of sari-waste to add more texture. This was then hand sewn in place.
NEC, Birmingham Exhibit Piece
We’ve been asked to produce an item out of silk paper for the Fashion, Embroidery and Stitch Exhibition at the NEC, 25th - 28th March.
Iv chosen to make a woodland fairy dress and wings. This
has been the process so far.
